The neck and waist straps are NOT separate.It's all one piece that goes through steel eyes and has a plastic piece that fits in the upper middle of your back (not uncomfortable - very thin)that splits the strap in different directions and then comes around and clips at one side.Ok for one person to use or people of same size, you wouldn't want to have to readjust between different sized people b/c it's kinda awkward.Click Here to see more reviews about: Welding Full Bib Apron - 42"
